Hello everybody...just a quick update on this Web Site. We have decided to delay the opening of the Web Store as there is so much that we need to catalogue first. I promise you that it will be worth the wait. So, for now, I have removed the Web Store drop down and replaced it with a Photo Album. As you will see there are various sections to the album and we will work to populate them over the next few days.

If you would like to add some of your own photos I will generate a visitors section and we would be really happy to post your pictures there. Just send them to us via Facebook or as an attachment to the [email protected] email address. Regard this Web Site as our meeting place and we can share our experiences with those out there looking for either accommodation, fine dining or just a relaxing beer.

So, how many of you have met Goofy? He is an Australian Shepherd I think and Goofy by name Goofy by nature. We think he has been abandoned but he has street smarts and is probably being fed at various places. Apparently he always hangs around the restaurant and is a one dog welcoming committee for any lodging guests. He is completely bonkers...completely loving and friendly and only has eyes for Karen. He sleeps over at our place and is great friends with our dog Maggie and our cat Lucy.

Because he is so much a part of the South Fork Inn and Grille we have decided to name the bar after him. So, as from 01Apr16 the bar is officially called GOOFY'S and we are getting a really nice sign made up.

Unfortunately he has a habit of trying to eat the tires off trucks travelling by at 30mph, so if anyone seems him eying a truck up and licking his lips just tell him "No" and he will obey.


At last I have the sound system all hooked up. Had to find the right splitter that would carry the 10 sets of speakers, including the four new ones recently fitted on the patio. Purchased in some examples of my favorite vintage Sansui equipment, a nice amplifier and separate tuner. All works well hooked up to a dedicated music notebook computer with nearly 10,000 CDs on it. Let us know what you want to hear and we can set it up in minutes.

Also working on the Koi Pond, had it all running the other day but there appears to be a leak at the higher water levels. Will have to get out there with some vegetable dye to try see where it escapes. Once done we will be getting the water chemistry sorted out prior to adding water hyacinths and some Koi. Will be a really nice feature when completed.

In the Kitchen we have as usual been working on some different recipes to bolster the Summer Menu. Check on the Restaurant Drop Down and on Facebook to see what specials we are running as this is where new items are introduced.


The St. George's Day menu has been finalized and is available under "Restaurant/Specials". Starting today fliers will be posted around the Valley so check it out and we truly hope to see you.

Now we are getting out of "Winter Mode" we are certainly getting more busy. This means that to continue to offer you all our best service we need to bolster our staffing levels. Right now we have considerable interest but still need to reach out and look for others to be in a support mode as the Summer approaches. So, stop by and pick up an application and let us talk because to support our locals we really do need local support. Thank you.

Don't forget that it is St. George's Day on the 23Apr16 and we are offering a Traditional English Menu to celebrate the day. I am in the process of making English Pork Sausages for the "Toad in the Hole" main course, the recipe is very old and I am excited to see what the results will be. We guarantee you a wonderful meal in a great environment and truly look forward to you Coming By and Staying addition there will be the full regular menu available...


St. George is the patron saint of England. His emblem, a red cross on a white background, is the flag of England, and part of the British flag. St George's emblem was adopted by Richard The Lion Heart and brought to England in the 12th century. The king's soldiers wore it on their tunics to avoid confusion in battle.

The anniversary of his death, which is on April 23, is seen as England's national day. According to legend, he was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon and saved a princess. He died in the year 303.

Don't forget that tomorrow is St. George's Day and we have a Special Menu for you. The Sausages for the Toad in the Hole have been made from absolute scratch, belly pork, loin pork, pork fat and a special blend of spices all ground together and then stuffed into casings to make beautiful fat English "Bangers" The Yorkshire Pudding mix will be made later today to sit overnight in the cooler to let the ingredients bind. The accompanying dishes will be made tomorrow in time for you to eat a complete and traditional English Dinner.


Thank you so very much to all of you who came and celebrated St. Georges Day with us and tried out a fairly typical English celebratory Dinner. I enjoyed making the sausages from scratch and I can assure you that they were incredibly authentic. That is a recipe I shall stick with and will include  them, "Bangers", in future Menus. The Potted Shrimp turned out really well too, it is all in the slow saute of the Shrimp/Prawns in a good quality Medium Dry Sherry. All in all a very succesful Menu. Thank you again.


We have been doing some maintenance on this Web Site just making sure that everything is relevant and accurate. You may notice some minor changes and also some additions. Starting 01May you will see a brand new Menu which will take us all the way through Summer. There will also be some minor pricing adjustments on the Beer and Wine lists just to "smooth" variances out. Mostly this will be in the form of a slight lowering in prices. You will also see that we now, at your request, stock Gluten Free Beer along with Non Alcoholic Beer too.

As mentioned, we have had requests for specific Beers and Wines and this is exactly what we want to hear. Remember, we want you to know that you are special to us as we strive to serve and satisfy you. So now you will see a Pinot Gris and shortly we hope to add a Draft version of the Torpedo IPA. From our perspective, and experience, we are also pleased to announce that we now have an Idaho Distributor for the Torra Y Concho Casillero Del Diablo from Chile. This is a fabulous Carmenere and we hope that you Merlot, Cabernet and Shiraz lovers will try it. I 100% guarantee you will become a convert, as I did about 25 years ago when visiting Chile regularly.
